The Social Entrepreneur Program component is relatively new for First Step Recovery Homes, Inc. with respect to its longevity. Albeit, First Step Recovery Homes, Inc. has never been insensitive or slack in response to needs of the community; we have always educated clients on the importance of being clean/sober not only to enhance their quality of living but also to empower them with knowledge so they can care for themselves thus preventing a lack of success in obtaining affordable housing, increased income, self-determination to succeed in recovery while tending to their health and reuniting with family and friends. Our intent is to expand the Social Entrepreneur Program and other fatherhood initiative services which will facilitate economic growth and to benefit the family structure. This is an on- the-job training program for lawn care and landscaping, moving transport, construction, electrical apprenticeship and car detailing.
First Step Recovery Homes, Inc.'s Family Support & Reunification Program objective is to bring stability to family units through assisting with healthy family interaction, education and to provide the identification, prevention / intervention for children / youth utilizing a family assessment tool. Through education, providing appropriate referrals and individualized goal planning children will be supported and parents also with breaking destructive family patterns. This means starting with the male family figure, who lost his connection with family members due to chemical addictions and as a result became homeless, may have been incarcerated repeatedly and is now participating in one of First Step Recovery Homes, Inc. housing programs.
